How many students are in each class?
Each class will have an average of 10 students depending on the subject. Our current student to teacher ratio is 12 to 1.
Are the High school and Middle School students in the same building?
Our high school and middle school students are separate. High school classes are in the main building while middle school students have classes in our annex and auxiliary classrooms. Lunches are separate as well. There is some supervised interaction before and after school, which both parties really embrace, almost like a big brothers & big sisters program.
How will you challenge my son/daughter academically?
St. Gerard CHS & RMS uses the TEA curriculum as a guideline while each department incorporates their own individual lesson plans to cater to each class.
How can I apply?
You can apply online for admission here.
How do you prepare students for college?
We offer a variety of college readiness programs:
No bells on campus, students must manage their own time in between classes to ensure they are punctual and are using their passing time most effectively.
Low cost dual credit, we collaborate with St. Phillips College (right down the street) to ensure students, beginning their sophomore year can earn college credit.
Internships, St. Gerard is the only Catholic high school that allows seniors to venture out into the San Antonio community to gain experience, network, and learn on the job skills to better prepare them for college and the workforce. Internship locations include law offices, veterinary clinics, schools, counseling offices, and many more.
